The Taikang Life Medicine Center of Wuhan University (hereinafter referred to as the Center) was established in December 2021. It is a relatively independent physical research institution operated by Wuhan University, with Academician Song Baoliang serving as the center's director/chief scientist. The center adopts internationally advanced management and operation mechanisms, establishes a scientific advisory committee, and hires well-known domestic and foreign experts as members. The center aims to adhere to innovation driven development, deeply implement the strategy of building a strong talent country in the new era, and accelerate the construction of a world important talent center and innovation highland. It adopts the modern technology PI system (chief academic leader+team), forms a high-level scientific research team, and creates a first-class public research platform for life medicine. The research direction of the center will focus on human diseases and health, driving the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents in life medicine through excellent basic and clinical research, and building an international first-class life medicine science research and education center.
The center has gathered a large number of outstanding scholars at home and abroad, including five academicians of the CAS Member (Song Baoliang, Shu Hongbing, Deng Zixin, Zhu Yuxian, Zhou Xiang), one expert workstation of academicians of the CAE Member (Xu Binghe), 14 national outstanding youth, and 39 young talents of the Yangtze River, and has established the "academic mentoring system" to help young PIs grow.
The research directions of the center cover: metabolism, infectious immunity, tumors, development, neurology, clinical medicine, pharmaceutical chemistry, synthetic biology, chemical biology, etc. The center not only has laboratories for basic research, but also has clinical experts joining in, establishing close cooperation mechanisms with People's Hospital, Central South Hospital, and Stomatological Hospital, strengthening cutting-edge exploration around clinical issues, promoting major original discoveries, diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases, and innovative drug research and development.
The center has a modern scientific research building with a total construction area of over 50000 square meters, including a large instrument sharing platform, experimental animal center, academic conference center, etc., to meet the needs of various scientific research and academic exchanges.

Outstanding talents: With profound academic achievements and internationally recognized important achievements in their respective disciplines; A tenured professor or exceptionally outstanding associate professor working at a world-class university, or a researcher at a renowned overseas research institution, generally under the age of 55.
2. Young academic talents: Possess a doctoral degree from a well-known university and have been engaged in scientific research for more than 3 years in well-known universities, research institutions, or R&D institutions of well-known enterprises at home and abroad; Has strong academic innovation, has achieved high-level landmark research results, and generally does not exceed the age of 40.

（1） Working conditions
1. With overseas high-level and top-notch talents as the core, establish and equip academic teams, select work assistants, and provide sufficient research funding. Discuss outstanding talents on a case by case basis. "Young academic talents" provide research funding of 5 to 11 million yuan (including national, local, school, and center support).
2. The center provides first-class working conditions for the hired PI, including 200-400 square meters of experimental and office space, a comprehensive public research platform, and an efficient management service team.

1. Provide internationally competitive compensation and benefits for outstanding talents, with specific compensation and resettlement fees discussed on a case by case basis.
2. Provide a salary of 400000-800000 yuan/year for "young academic talents" (pre tax, including benefits such as unit social security and housing provident fund, jointly supported by the school and the center); Provide additional revolving housing or rental subsidies; Among them, schools selected as overseas outstanding youth will provide a settlement fee of 2 million yuan (with corresponding national and local support), or choose talent housing.
